As I compose, I'm constantly riffing little mantras to myself to keep focused on the most important thing: support the story; allow the viewer to focus on what the filmmaker is conveying; create music that is felt but not noticed explicitly.
This one just popped into my head and I had to post it: Think simply so others may simply think.
